Created in 1993 by Philip Chiang and Paul Fleming, P.F. Chang’s is the first multi-unit restaurant concept in the U.S. to honor and celebrate the 2,000-year-old tradition of wok cooking as the center of the guest experience. Since inception, P.F. Chang’s chefs have been hand-rolling dim sum, hand chopping and slicing all vegetables and meats, scratch cooking every sauce and wok-cooking each dish, every day in every restaurant. Today, P.F. Although the first P.F. Chang’s location opened in 1993, our story actually began in the 1960s. Back then, Cecilia Chiang was enjoying the wild success of her Chinese restaurant, the Mandarin. Flash forward to 1974, where Cecilia was called back to China for an extended trip. Her son, Philip, stepped in to run the restaurant. And run the restaurant he did. Philip’s success caught the attention of notable restaurateur Paul Fleming, who couldn’t get the thought of Philip’s fresh and inventive dishes out of his mind. With a handshake, the two men agreed to share the magic and P.F. Chang’s was born.
Global expansion began in 2009 with the opening of our first international locations in Mexico City and Kuwait. In the years since, P.F. Chang’s has become an undeniable global leader among premium casual dining restaurants. Today, P.F. Chang’s can be found in over 214 locations across the U.S. and more than 90 locations around the world.
P.F. Chang’s restaurants offer bold, scratch-made culinary creations. Each dish is prepared using fresh ingredients and incorporates premium herbs and spices imported directly from Asia.
