MAKE AT HOME VIETNAMESE COFFEE

The Secret Ingredient In Our New Dessert

BY: TATUM SNODGRASS | NOVEMBER 7, 2017

Vietnamese coffee is a mainstay in Vietnamese culture. Go to any pho house and you’ll find it on the menu. It’s also a staple at the P.F. Chang’s office, perfect for morning meetings or an afternoon pick-me-up. This recipe is an original from Chef Darrell Ngo. Whenever he’s brewing a batch, word spreads quickly. And if you’re lucky enough to get a glass of this sweet, sweet goodness, you cherish it.

Make this sweet Vietnamese coffee at home for the holidays and serve hot or iced.

Step 1: Arrange coffee filter over mug.
Step 2: Add coffee grounds to the coffee filter.
Step 3: Pour hot water over grounds and wait patiently for the coffee to brew.
Step 4: While it’s brewing, add sweetened condensed milk to glass.
Step 5: When all the water has seeped into the filter, it’s done. Remove the filter from the mug.
Step 6: Pour the freshly brewed coffee over the milk into the glass.
Step 7: Stir until creamy. Add ice and enjoy.

Vietnamese coffee is the secret ingredient in our new Vietnamese Chocolate Lava Cake. This fudge-filled cake features just a hint of coffee flavor and is served with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream and fresh berries.
